As a “Planning Specialist”, Wyatt Petersen consults with Advisors and small business owners regarding Succession and Exit Planning. He also advises in areas of key employee development, competency, skill management, retention, and performance and incentive planning.
Wyatt’s portfolio of clients range from small sole practiioners and privately held family businesses, to much larger organizations including, Wendy’s, Roadway Express, and Andersen Windows.
His recent activities have included development of a 'Succession Program' at Cambridge Investment Research, Inc, speaking engagements for the Fairfield Entrepreneurial Association, Boise State University Small Business Development Centers, the National Electrical Contractors Association, Society of Professional Land Surveyors, City of Boise Chamber of Commerce, and other professional organizations.
Wyatt graduated in 1984 from Idaho State University's College of Technology’s Electronics program, ranked as one of the top 10 programs in the nation. His entrepreneurial spirit drove him to study and understand business systems, how they work, and to author software tools to solve business problems.
It was this spirit that led Wyatt to found Information Management Solutions, Inc., where he experienced first-hand the importance of good business systems and processes. Soon after, IMS began doing business as ‘HRSuccess’ to better represent the primary focus of the company. In 2001, HRSuccess acquired H&D Products. Under Wyatt’s leadership, and inspired by Michael Gerber in his books, “The E-Myth” and “The E-Myth revisited,” H&D implemented processes and systems to stabilize and grow the business. Today, H&D is thriving with over 500 clients nationwide.
Wyatt’s interest in planning and implementing business systems has led him to form alliances with multiple advisors and organizations. One such alliance is Business Enterprise Institute’s Network of Exit Planning Advisors™. BEI was founded by John Brown a practicing attorney in Denver Co. and author of the book’ How To Run Your Business So You Can Leave It In Style’. Another valuable strategic alliance exist with the Principal Financial Group’s Advanced Solutions Team, which includes an astute group of highly qualified and technically skilled Attorneys, CPAs, Financial Advisors and Consultants. In addition, many alliances have be formed with well-respected local legal and accounting firms.
