Is Microsoft Access Runtime 2007 Installed on you computer?

 

Did you see a dialog box for the MS End User License Agreement?

 

Did you “Run” the program after installation and let it configure your computer?

 

Common Download Problems:

 

Microsoft Access Runtime 2007

· Most download problems occur as a result of Microsoft Access Runtime 2007 not being properly installed on the computer.

· Confirm that Microsoft Access Runtime 2007 was installed on your computer by going to the control panel, choosing the install/uninstall program option and looking for the program on your list of installed programs.  If you do not see it listed, it did not fully install.

· * The Microsoft Access Runtime 2007 file you download is an approximately 51 MB file

· This is the installation file, not the actual program file

· Once downloaded, this file prompts you to “Run” at which time it installs  the actual program which is over 120 MB in size.  During this installation, you should see several dialog boxes that state “Installing” program and “Configuring”  your computer. 

· If you did not see these dialog boxes, you only downloaded the installation file but did not actually install the program.

· Install Access Runtime again—we recommend minimizing your browser window and any other open programs during download so that you can see any dialog boxes that appear—they tend to be behind open windows/programs.

· If you do not get a License Agreement dialog box to appear, the file did not download and/or you did not run the file after download (this is common at the Microsoft site and some people think they have downloaded the file when they really have not).

· Once Access Runtime is downloaded, you should see another dialog box to “run” the file, it will then take several minutes to configure to your computer.  Please make sure that Access Runtime is fully installed and configured prior to installing ELM.

· We recommend downloading the file directly from Microsoft but, some users have experienced problems downloading from Microsoft in which case, please use our link.  The file is 52 MB and will take 10+ minutes to download even at fast connection speeds (make sure all windows/programs are minimized so that you can follow the onscreen instructions during installation).

 

                 ELM

· The software has been tested and will work for computers with Access 2007 or with Microsoft Access Runtime 2007 

· If you have do not have MS Access 2007 (either no Access or an older version) you need to install Microsoft Access Runtime 2007

· Some users with Access 2003 installed have experienced installation issues—primarily from not being able to install Access Runtime 2007 properly.  

· If the program stops during installation due to system compatibility issues, it is related to Microsoft Access Runtime 2007 not being installed on your computer.

· Some users with Access 2003 or older have experienced difficulties downloading MS Access Runtime 2007 from Microsoft, if this is the case, we recommend downloading the Access Runtime 2007 from our site (on the download page).  If the problem still persists, you may want to either upgrade to Access 2007 (if you use Access) or uninstall the older version of Access which should allow you to install Access Runtime 2007 file from Microsoft.

· As with any new software, we are sure some computer configurations will experience download issues.  First, try downloading the software a second time and make sure you hit “Run” versus “Save”.

ELM Download Problems

Running ELM

· ELM install an Elm Icon on your desktop. You can run the program by clicking this icon.

· The screen below should appear when you run ELM.  This is the Main Menu.

· If all of the menu items do not appear and you can only see one button, either MS Access Runtime 2007 is not installed or computer level security features are disabling the program.

· Please read the attached file regarding Vista security settings:  Click Here

· From the Help Menu, you can access basic instructions for running ELM.

· Clicking “Open Contacts Detail View” will open a dialog box where you will be given a product specific serial number and be asked to enter an unlock code for the software; the software will run for 20 days without the code.

· You can receive your unlock code by going to the APMAA Member Only Web Site - ELM Activation menu.
